CHRISTIANNE KLEIN Christianne Klein joined ABC News in July 2006 as a New York-based anchor and correspondent. She anchors programming on ABC News Now and is a substitute anchor on ABC's overnight and early morning news programs, "World News Now" and "World News This Morning." Additionally she reports for "Good Morning America." Klein joined ABC News from WJLA-TV, the ABC affiliate in Washington, DC. Beginning in March 2005, she served as weekend co-anchor of WJLA's evening newscasts, as well as a reporter covering breaking news in and around the nation's capital. From 2002 to 2005, Klein was an anchor and reporter at KUTV-TV, the CBS affiliate in Salt Lake City. There she reported on the kidnapping and return of Elizabeth Smart, the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster and the murder of Lori Hacking. Before her tenure in Salt Lake City, she was the main evening news anchor and reporter at KNVN-TV, the NBC affiliate in Chico, California. She began her broadcasting career in 1998 at WCTV, the Wellesley College television station in Wellesley, Massachusetts. In addition to her broadcasting experience, Klein served as a frequent panelist and political contributor on "Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher" in 2002. Klein holds a BA in Political Science from Wellesley College. |
