Weather and Features Correspondent, "Good Morning America" Weekend Edition

Marysol Castro is the weather and features correspondent for the weekend edition of ABC News' "Good Morning America." The weekend morning news program, launched September 4, 2004, airs live every Saturday and Sunday on the ABC Television Network.

Since joining ABC News, Ms. Castro has reported on a wide array of stories for the weekend morning news program, including traveling to New Orleans to report on the re-opening of the city's historic streetcars. She reported live for weekend "GMA" from the Indy 500 this year. In addition to her feature reporting, Ms. Castro brings viewers the national weather report Saturday and Sunday mornings, live from Times Square Studios.

Prior to joining the weekend edition of "GMA," Ms. Castro was a general assignment reporter at WPIX-TV in New York. There she covered various news stories around the tri-state area and served as traffic reporter for the station's morning news program. Before arriving at WPIX-TV, she was an anchor and correspondent for News 12 The Bronx, where she provided live continuous coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and reported on various news stories throughout the borough.

Ms. Castro taught English in Brooklyn, New York before entering the world of broadcast journalism. A Bronx native, she holds a degree in English and government from Wesleyan University, and a Master's in broadcast journalism from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Ms. Castro resides in Connecticut with her husband and young son.
