Senior Vice President, Communications Resources, Disney-ABC Television GroupPhotoSharon Williams, former vice president, Media Relations, ABC Television Network, was promoted to senior vice president, Communications Resources, Disney-ABC Television Group in September 2005. She reports to Kevin Brockman, senior vice president, Communications, Disney-ABC Television Group. In her new position, Ms. Williams oversees and coordinate efforts by the communications support divisions that assist the cable channels and the broadcast network. These include Photography and New Communications Media, Broadcast and Ratings Publicity, Editorial Services, Talent Relations and Business Management. Ms. Williams joined ABC in 1997 as head of Broadcast Publicity, then later added management of day-to-day media relations for ABC Entertainment to her watch, encompassing oversight of publicity plans and strategy for all entertainment programming, talent development programs, business development and ABC.com. Prior to joining ABC, she as part of the executive team that launched the United Paramount Network (UPN) in 1993. Ms. Williams previously spent six years at Columbia Pictures Television and Sony Pictures Entertainment, starting at the former as a series publicist and ending her tenure on the corporate level as vice president, Corporate Communications. She began her publicity career at KCBS-TV, where she served as publicist at CBS' owned station in Los Angeles. |
