Diane Tryneski has rejoined the ABC Television Network as senior vice president, TV Operations, Broadcast Operations & Engineering. The appointment was announced by Preston Davis, president of Broadcast Operations & Engineering for the ABC Television Network, to whom she will report. In this expanded new role, Ms. Tryneski will oversee all areas of BO&E operations and administration support for ABC’s news, sports and daytime production units. “I’m very pleased that Diane has returned to ABC to add her strengths to an already impressive team,” said Mr. Davis in making the announcement. “Her knowledge and experience in all facets of TV operations will once again be a valuable asset to BO&E and the network production divisions that we support.” Ms. Tryneski returns to ABC after three years at the Discovery Channel, where she was executive vice president, Discovery Production Group, Technology and Media Services. Her responsibilities there included creation and production of original content for the various Discovery networks, including new media distribution platforms. Previously Ms. Tryneski was senior vice president, TV Operations for ABC, a position to which she was named in October 1999. Before that, beginning in March 1995, she was vice president, TV Operations, East Coast for BO&E. She also served as general manager, Central Technical Facilities and West Coast Operations, where she was one of the executives responsible for the transition of West Coast program distribution to the East Coast operation. Ms. Tryneski joined ABC in 1987 and has held many positions within the Broadcast Operations & Engineering division. She began her career as assistant manager of Studio Services and was promoted in 1990 to Business manager, Television Production Services. A year later she was named manager of Affiliate Services, and in May 1993 was promoted to manager of Central Technical Facilities. Before joining ABC, Ms. Tryneski spent five years with WNET/NET Telecon, culminating her career there as director of Telesales. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and communications from Rutgers University in 1982, and completed the Capital Cities/ABC-sponsored Management Development Program at Simmons College in 1991. In 1998 Ms. Tryneski was inducted into the Academy of Women Achievers of the YMCA of the City of New York.
