Jeffrey W. Schneider was named senior vice president, ABC News, in July of 2006. Mr. Schneider is the spokesman for ABC News and oversees communications for all ABC News broadcasts, including "World News with Charles Gibson," "Nightline," "Primetime" "20/20," "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," "Good Morning America," "World News Now," "America This Morning" and "World News Tonight Saturday & Sunday." In addition, he is responsible for media relations for ABC's affiliate news service News One, ABC News Radio, ABC News Productions, WABC-TV and ABCNews.com. Mr. Schneider reports directly to Kevin Brockman, senior vice president, Communications, Disney-ABC Television Group, and to David Westin, president, ABC News.

Prior to joining ABC News, Mr. Schneider was the director of public relations at the William Morris Agency. In 1997 he became director of public relations at Hachette Filipacchi Magazines, where he was responsible for the promotion of 29 magazine titles. From 1993-1997 he was a senior vice president at Rubenstein Associates, a public relations agency in New York City.

Mr. Schneider began his career as the public information officer for the New York State Urban Development Corporation. He graduated with a degree in international relations from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service in 1991.

Mr. Schneider resides in Manhattan, where he was born and raised.
